I have an article slated to be published in an issue of The Journal of Fandom Studies early this year. Titled “Uncles’ Generation: Adult Male Fans and Alternative Masculinities in South Korean Popular Music,” the article deals with the recent emergence of adult males in the fandom scene usually associated with adolescence and traces the origins of various notions of what constitutes masculinity in Korean culture.
